The end of year is our time to reflect with special friends, family, & loved ones. Priority Housing just opened our first women's sober living called "Finley House," dedicated to our friend Josh who passed away in August. We developed a program designed to help women transform their lives & we will be hosting recovery-related events within the home. Proceeds from Finley House will fund our next project, in a less fortunate area.
Priority Housing's next project is a Compton facility, which is being transformed from a neighborhood eyesore into a haven for women & children escaping domestic violence. For decades, this property had a negative impact on the community, serving as a motel known as a hub for crime, drugs, & prostitution. The Compton City Council revoked the motel license, forcing the owner to sell. We are collaborating with Phyllis Story & Joe Paul from Shields for Families, who recognized the solution within this problem-property, to make this an incredible opportunity for at-risk families seeking serenity & peace.
We are reaching out to you at this important time to help us make a difference in the lives of people who ordinarily would have nowhere to go. Women who come from severely mentally & physically abusive environments often lack positive role models, thus re-creating troubling situations for the next generation.
We are fortunate to have highly skilled family & addiction recovery advocates, case managers & counselors involved in both projects to help us make a difference in the lives of the people we meet.
The holidays are a time of year where we’re expected to show up & celebrate the miracle of family. Often, the holidays are overshadowed by material concerns such as expecting an exchange of expensive presents, but the true message of the holidays is the spirit of giving.
Now is the time to open your hearts to individuals whose greatest concern may not be presents; but a safe & happy place to call home. We hope that you will chose to partner with us to answer the call to help people in need. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift to Priority Housing Corporation today. Your gift will help us make considerable changes in the lives of women & children as well as our community. There is a donation link on our main page, please visit priorityhousing.org or call 424-279-3099 for information on how to volunteer!
